(PART 1)
Hey everybody!
Delhi has always been one of my favorite places in the world. I love how, sometimes, I just meet random people and they turn out to be the most generous people I’ve ever met. Since the day I was born, I’ve always admired other countries but in my heart, Delhi has always been equally fascinating.
Without further ado, let’s get started with the tour!
The Jama Masjid is a 17th-century, red sandstone Mughal-style mosque.
It was crafted by 5000 labourers after 6 years of hard work by Shah Jahan
As I entered the gates, I saw the beauty of this mosque, the red sandstone really stands out. It stays super hot during summer so don’t forget to wear socks!
All visitors, including non-Muslims, are allowed inside as well as out, and photos can be taken everywhere, but the mosque is closed to non-Muslims at prayer time. The mosque sits on an elevated sandstone platform and there are 39 steps up to the northern gate. Although, a lot of people state that there is a 200 Rs fee for photography, I didn’t have to pay any!
Also, women who are wearing short sleeved shirts or knickers are not allowed inside and are given a gown to cover themselves.
There are many places to shop and eat nearby, the parathe wali gali being one of them. (parathe wali gali translates to a street that is famous for it’s flat bread/parathas) You can even stop at the local chaat shops to grab a bite of the spiciest paani-puris!
For shopping, I went to Chandni Chowk and got a lot more stuff than I wanted! I still can’t get over the fact that I spent less than 10$ on stuff and still got more things than I’ll ever use!
I got a feather-y earcuff for 50 Rs, a beautiful neck piece for 60 Rs, A pair of flats for 100 Rs. (Check out the pics) And tons of beautiful Indian dresses!
That’s a total of about 3$ excluding the dresses! Delhi’s Flea markets are the best, you can get super cheap and high quality things.

Nope. It’s free for Indian residents. Foreigners may have to pay a few bucks, I’m not sure.
